Historical Fiction falls squarely into this category. Sometimes it’s a win other times it’s not. This book was a win in some ways, in other ways not so much. What tipped this book for me as a winning book was a. Giles Kristian is a bloody good writer. No jokes!!! The prose is sublime and you really get to see a fleshed out character from Arthurian legend that is often cast as i said in a negative light. You might say of course you get to see Lancelot, he tells the story.
But i have to say that first person PoV’s are notorious for giving you characters without soul, characters that are divorced from emotions in their story so that the narration feels mechanic. Not so in this book. I find that this quote was perhaps the bane of Lancelot’s life. Would that falling in love with a girl would be so simple, or friendship, loyalty, love for country.

A version of Lancelot summoned in his prime as peerless swordsman. An offensive Arts-based single-target powerhouse, Lancelot has an ST NP backed up with a kit that is entirely focused on generating, absorbing and then massively critting with stars. Despite mediocre generation stats, these criticals in turn enable him to employ his NP at regular intervals. Yet, what truly elevates Lancelot is that he can do this on his own with a consistency few Servants can even come close to.
But Lancelot does have some manageable problems. None of his skills provide anything even associated with defense. He will have to rely on his allies to supply defensive buffs. Finally, aside from the in-built Arts buff on his NP and his critical hits, Lancelot has no other way to boost his damage.

I was there a couple of times in the past and every time i enjoy. The food the show and generally the atmosphere is something unique. When we visited Sir Lancelot, we had a table in there basement. The restaurant were full of people. The staff were helpul and kind.

Lancelot du Lac meaning Lancelot of the Lake, Welsh : Lawnslot y Llyn , also written as Launcelot and other spellings including early German Lanzelet , early French Lanselos , and early Welsh Lanslod Lak , is one of the Knights of the Round Table in the Arthurian legend where he typically figures as King Arthur ‘s greatest companion and one of his greatest knights.
In the best-known tradition, Lancelot is the orphaned son of King Ban of Benwick, raised in a fairy realm by the Lady of the Lake. He then becomes the lord of Joyous Gard , and the greatest swordsman and jouster as the knight of most martial prowess of the age — until his adulterous affair with Queen Guinevere is discovered, causing a civil war which is exploited by Mordred and brings about the end of Arthur’s kingdom.
